Brokerage Assigns ₹976 Target Price, Citing Margin Leadership and Market Share Expansion

Shares of Jyoti CNC Automation Ltd. gained over 4% in intraday trade on Wednesday after brokerage firm Nirmal Bang initiated coverage on the stock with a 'Buy' rating and a target price of ₹976. The target implies an upside potential of nearly 27% from current levels, reflecting the brokerage's confidence in the company's long-term growth trajectory and earnings expansion.

The stock climbed as much as 4.06% to touch an intraday high of ₹769.70 on the NSE before trading around ₹764.65, up 3.38% from the previous close.

Strong Earnings Growth Expected Over FY26–FY28

According to Nirmal Bang, Jyoti CNC is well-positioned to capitalize on rising demand for advanced machine tools across key sectors such as aerospace and defence, electronics manufacturing services (EMS), automotive, and industrial engineering.

The brokerage expects the company’s profit after tax (PAT) to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 34% between FY26 and FY28. This growth is expected to be driven primarily by a projected 30% CAGR in machine volumes as the company ramps up production at its newly commissioned 10,000-machine manufacturing facility.

Analysts believe the expanded capacity will enable Jyoti CNC to serve both domestic and export markets more efficiently while strengthening its position in the rapidly evolving CNC machinery segment.

Market Share Gains Could Drive Next Leg of Growth

One of the key pillars of the bullish investment thesis is the company's ability to increase its domestic market share in CNC machine manufacturing.

Nirmal Bang estimates that Jyoti CNC's market share could rise from approximately 21% currently to between 28% and 31.5% by FY29. The expected gains are supported by increasing adoption of technologically advanced and AI-enabled CNC machines manufactured domestically.

India's growing emphasis on self-reliance in industrial manufacturing and the shift toward local sourcing are expected to further support demand for indigenous machine tool manufacturers.

Margin Leadership Sets Jyoti CNC Apart From Peers

The brokerage highlighted Jyoti CNC's industry-leading profitability as one of its strongest competitive advantages.

The company currently enjoys gross margins of nearly 50%, significantly higher than the 30–40% range reported by several industry peers. This superior margin profile is largely attributed to its extensive backward integration and in-house production capabilities.

Jyoti CNC manufactures several critical machine components internally, including:

  • Spindles

  • Tool changers

  • Rotary tables

  • Universal heads

The company's localization strategy has reduced dependency on imports and created a meaningful cost advantage. Management estimates suggest localization accounts for nearly 65% of import costs, translating into machine-level savings of 7–14%.

Additionally, lower labor and operational costs at its Rajkot manufacturing base contribute to sustaining higher profitability.

Huron Partnership Strengthens Global Competitiveness

Another key differentiator for Jyoti CNC is its strategic relationship with Huron, a globally recognized machine tool manufacturer.

The company supplies approximately 75–80% of Huron's raw material requirements from India, creating operational synergies and enhancing manufacturing efficiency. This collaboration provides Jyoti CNC access to advanced technology, global customers, and export opportunities.

Nirmal Bang believes the company's margin advantage is structural and sustainable rather than cyclical, owing to these deep operational integrations.

Macro Headwinds Begin to Ease

The brokerage acknowledged that Jyoti CNC faced several execution challenges between FY24 and FY26, including delays in commissioning facilities, slower-than-expected EMS demand, and temporary weakness in capital expenditure cycles.

However, analysts argue that these issues were largely driven by macroeconomic and policy-related factors rather than a deterioration in underlying demand.

Several positive developments are now emerging:

  • Recovery in manufacturing sector capital expenditure

  • Progress in India-US trade negotiations

  • New production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes for electronics components

  • Expected acceleration in aerospace and defence spending

  • Improved order inflows from automotive customers

The company also reported a significant increase in its dies-and-moulds order book during FY26, indicating improving demand conditions across industrial segments.

Capacity Expansion Could Improve Cash Flow Generation

While Jyoti CNC has historically operated with a higher working-capital cycle than peers, Nirmal Bang expects this to improve substantially over the coming years.

The newly established 10,000-machine facility focuses primarily on low- and mid-range turning centers and vertical machining centers (VMCs), products that typically have shorter manufacturing and delivery cycles.

As the revenue mix shifts toward these standardized products, analysts expect:

  • Faster inventory turnover

  • Lower working-capital requirements

  • Improved cash conversion

  • Stronger free cash flow generation

The brokerage forecasts the cash conversion cycle to improve significantly by FY29, potentially becoming an important driver of shareholder value creation.

Key Risks Investors Should Monitor

Despite the optimistic outlook, Nirmal Bang cautioned that certain risks remain.

The most notable concern is the ongoing investigation involving Huron Graffenstaden related to alleged European export-control violations concerning dual-use technologies. The matter has already resulted in asset seizures and revenue reversals, and any adverse developments could impact future operations.

Other risks include:

  • Elevated working-capital intensity

  • Delays in the transition toward shorter-cycle products

  • Slower-than-expected manufacturing capex recovery

  • Weakness in aerospace and defence order inflows

  • Execution challenges related to capacity expansion

Investment Outlook

Nirmal Bang believes the market has overly discounted Jyoti CNC due to temporary execution delays and macroeconomic uncertainties. As industrial demand improves and the company benefits from increased capacity, stronger market share, and sustained margin leadership, the brokerage expects earnings growth to accelerate over the next three years.

With a target price of ₹976 and multiple growth catalysts emerging across manufacturing, defence, electronics, and automotive sectors, analysts see Jyoti CNC as a compelling long-term play on India's industrial and capital goods expansion story.
