Positive Global Signals and Strong IT Buying Boost Investor Sentiment

The BSE Sensex climbed more than 400 points, while the NSE Nifty50 comfortably traded above the crucial 24,100 level, reflecting renewed optimism among investors.Indian equity markets opened the week on a strong note, with benchmark indices posting healthy gains amid supportive global cues and broad-based buying across sectors.

At around 10:00 AM on Monday, the Sensex was trading at 77,205.86, up 402.96 points or 0.52 percent, while the Nifty50 gained 125.25 points to reach 24,138.35, marking a rise of 0.52 percent.

The rally was led by information technology stocks, with investors increasing exposure to export-oriented companies amid expectations of improving global demand and easing geopolitical concerns.

IT Stocks Shine as Sector Emerges Top Performer

The Nifty IT index advanced more than 1 percent, making it the best-performing sector during the morning session. Major gainers included Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Coforge, and Oracle Financial Services Software.

Market participants believe that technology companies could benefit from stable global economic conditions and a potential recovery in technology spending by international clients. The sector's strong performance also helped offset weakness in a few defensive pockets of the market.

Among the Nifty50 constituents, Cipla, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra were among the top gainers, attracting strong buying interest from both institutional and retail investors.

Broader Markets Extend Gains

The positive momentum was not limited to large-cap stocks. Broader market indices also traded firmly in positive territory, indicating widespread participation in the rally.

The Nifty MidCap 100 index gained around 0.45 percent, while the Nifty SmallCap 100 index rose approximately 0.57 percent. The strength in mid- and small-cap stocks suggests improving risk appetite among investors and confidence in domestic growth prospects.

Analysts note that sustained participation from broader markets is a positive sign for overall market health and indicates that the rally is becoming more broad-based rather than being driven by a handful of heavyweight stocks.

Sectoral Trends Highlight Market Strength

Apart from information technology, several key sectors contributed to the market's upward movement.

The Nifty Oil & Gas index witnessed healthy gains as energy companies benefited from stable crude oil prices and expectations of steady domestic demand. Consumer durable stocks also attracted buying interest, supported by improving consumption trends and expectations of strong festive-season demand in the coming months.

However, the Nifty Chemical index underperformed compared to the broader market, as investors remained cautious about margin pressures and global demand trends in the specialty chemicals segment.

Global Developments Support Market Sentiment

Investor confidence received an additional boost from international developments. Reports indicated that the United States and Iran agreed on a roadmap aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement within the next 60 days following discussions held in Switzerland.

The development eased concerns surrounding geopolitical tensions and potential disruptions in global energy markets. Asian equity markets responded positively to the news, providing a supportive backdrop for Indian equities at the opening bell.

Global investors continue to closely monitor diplomatic developments, commodity prices, and central bank policies, all of which could influence market direction in the weeks ahead.

Corporate Action: Aurobindo Pharma Expands US Presence

In corporate news, Aurobindo Pharma announced that its US subsidiary has received regulatory approval to proceed with the acquisition of Lannett Company LLC.

The transaction, valued at approximately $250 million, is expected to strengthen Aurobindo Pharma's presence in the United States market and expand its product portfolio. Investors viewed the development positively as the company continues to pursue growth opportunities in international markets.

IPO Market Remains Active

The primary market also remained in focus.

Turtlemint Fintech Solutions' ₹882.67 crore initial public offering entered its second day of subscription. The issue comprises a mix of fresh equity issuance and an offer for sale.

Meanwhile, the IPOs of Riyaasat Lifestyle and Avience Biomedicals entered their final day of subscription. Both offerings consist entirely of fresh equity issues aimed at funding business expansion and growth initiatives.

Strong activity in the IPO market highlights continued investor interest in new-age businesses and emerging growth opportunities.

Market Outlook

Market participants will closely watch global developments, institutional fund flows, crude oil prices, and corporate announcements for further direction. As long as the Nifty remains above the 24,000–24,100 zone, sentiment is likely to remain constructive.

The strong start to the week, coupled with leadership from IT stocks and healthy participation from broader markets, suggests that investors are entering the new trading week with renewed confidence and a positive outlook toward India's growth story.
