Company Accelerates Expansion with 10.5 GW of Projects Under Construction
Renewable energy major Avaada Group is on track to significantly expand its clean energy footprint, with plans to achieve a total installed renewable energy capacity of 17.7 GW within the next two years. The ambitious growth roadmap highlights the company's increasing role in supporting India's energy transition and net-zero objectives.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Avaada Bharat Uday Yatra event, Avaada Energy CEO Kishor Nair said the group currently manages a renewable energy portfolio exceeding 17.7 GWp, comprising more than 7.2 GWp of operational assets and around 10.5 GWp of projects currently under construction.
The expansion comes at a time when India's renewable energy sector is witnessing accelerated investments, supported by favourable government policies, rising power demand, and growing corporate commitments toward sustainability.
Strong Project Pipeline Backed by Long-Term PPAs
A key factor supporting Avaada's growth trajectory is the availability of long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) for its under-construction projects. According to the company, PPAs have already been secured for the majority of upcoming capacity, providing revenue visibility and reducing project execution risks.
Long-term PPAs remain one of the most critical indicators for renewable energy developers, as they ensure stable cash flows and improve project financing prospects. Industry experts view Avaada's contracted pipeline as a positive sign of future earnings stability.
The company's under-development portfolio spans utility-scale solar parks, hybrid renewable energy projects, and emerging clean energy solutions designed to meet growing electricity demand across multiple states.
Renewable Energy Sector Continues to Attract Capital
India's renewable energy market remains one of the fastest-growing globally, driven by ambitious national targets and increasing investor confidence. The government aims to substantially increase non-fossil fuel power generation capacity over the coming decade, creating significant opportunities for large-scale developers.
Avaada Group has emerged as one of the key players in this transformation through continued investments across solar generation, green hydrogen, energy storage, and integrated clean energy infrastructure.
Market analysts note that companies with large contracted pipelines and execution capabilities are likely to benefit the most from India's renewable energy expansion cycle.
Strategic Importance for Investors
For investors tracking the clean energy sector, Avaada's planned capacity addition reflects strong execution momentum and growing demand for renewable power. The company's ability to commission projects on schedule will be closely monitored as it moves toward the 17.7 GW milestone.
The scale of the planned expansion also positions Avaada among the leading renewable energy platforms in India, potentially enhancing its attractiveness to infrastructure funds, strategic investors, and global climate-focused capital.
As energy transition investments continue to gain momentum worldwide, companies with diversified renewable portfolios and secured offtake agreements are expected to remain at the forefront of sector growth.
Outlook
With over 10.5 GW of renewable energy projects currently under construction and backed by signed power purchase agreements, Avaada Group appears well-positioned to achieve its targeted 17.7 GW installed capacity over the next two years. The expansion is expected to strengthen the company's market position while contributing significantly to India's clean energy ambitions and long-term sustainability goals.
