Airline Announces Limited-Period Mega Discount Campaign Across Domestic and International Routes
Air India Express has launched one of its biggest promotional campaigns yet with the introduction of its new “Xpress Sale,” offering nearly 5 million discounted seats across domestic and international routes. The airline is providing fare discounts of up to 50% as competition intensifies in India’s rapidly expanding aviation market ahead of the busy summer and festive travel season.
The limited-period sale began on May 27 and will remain open until May 31, 2026. The discounted tickets will be valid for travel between June 15 and October 10, 2026, covering a wide range of destinations across India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
According to the airline, the discounts apply on Lite fares, which do not include check-in baggage, as well as Value fares across its growing network.
Exclusive Early Access for Direct Bookings
Air India Express has provided exclusive early access to the sale for customers booking through its official website and mobile application on May 27, before opening the promotional fares across major travel booking platforms from May 28 onwards.
The airline is also offering additional benefits for logged-in Tata NeuPass members. Customers using the loyalty programme can avail up to 20% discount on Business Class fares along with extra loyalty rewards and exclusive travel benefits.
The move is aimed at strengthening direct bookings while enhancing customer engagement within the Tata Group’s growing aviation and digital ecosystem.

Apart from discounted airfares, Air India Express is also offering savings on several ancillary services during the sale period.
Tata NeuPass members can receive:
- Up to 30% off on pre-booked Gourmair hot meals
- Discounts on standard and prime seat selection
- Reduced pricing on excess baggage options
- Savings on 10 kg Xcess Check-In and 3 kg Xtra Carry-On services
Passengers booking Business Class tickets under the promotion will also receive benefits such as:
- Extra legroom
- Complimentary hot meals
- Higher baggage allowance
- Priority airport services under the ‘Xpress Ahead’ programme
The airline said NeuPass members can additionally earn up to 8% NeuCoins and avail extra booking discounts of up to ₹300 during the campaign.
Indian Aviation Sector Witnessing Aggressive Competition
The mega sale comes at a time when Indian airlines are aggressively competing to attract price-sensitive travellers amid rising passenger traffic and strong demand for leisure and international travel.
India’s aviation market has been witnessing rapid growth due to:
- Increased domestic tourism
- Rising disposable incomes
- Expanding middle-class travel demand
- Strong outbound travel to Gulf and Southeast Asian destinations
- Growing preference for low-cost carriers
Airlines are increasingly using discounted fares, bundled offers and loyalty programmes to boost seat occupancy and capture market share during peak travel periods.
Industry analysts believe competitive pricing strategies are expected to intensify further as carriers continue expanding fleets and adding new routes across both domestic and international sectors.
Air India Express Expanding Its Presence
Air India Express, now operating under the Tata Group’s broader airline consolidation strategy, has been rapidly expanding its route network and fleet presence after the merger integration process involving AirAsia India.
The airline has focused heavily on strengthening connectivity between tier-2 and tier-3 Indian cities while also expanding flights to Gulf countries and key international leisure destinations.
The latest sale campaign is expected to support passenger growth while improving advance bookings for the upcoming festive and holiday travel season.
Special Benefits Continue for Key Passenger Categories
The airline also confirmed that it will continue offering specialised discounted fares and travel benefits for:
- Students
- Senior citizens
- Armed forces personnel
- Retired defence staff
- Dependents of military personnel
Industry observers say such targeted benefits remain important for budget airlines as they attempt to broaden customer reach while maintaining high passenger volumes in India’s increasingly competitive aviation sector.
