Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports led gains across Adani Group stocks after reporting strong second-quarter results for FY27. Higher revenues, improved operating performance and upgraded full-year guidance supported investor sentiment, although the sustainability of the rally will depend on earnings growth, valuations and broader market conditions.

Shares of Adani Group companies rallied on Thursday after strong second-quarter results from flagship company Adani Enterprises and port operator Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) strengthened market sentiment. Most frontline group stocks advanced between 3% and 6%, outperforming the broader market during the trading session.

Adani Enterprises shares climbed around 5% to ₹2,612 on the BSE, while Adani Ports surged 6% to ₹1,867.75. The rally came as investors responded to robust revenue growth, higher operating earnings and improved business outlooks from the two companies.

The gains also followed a period of substantial correction in several Adani Group stocks. Excluding Adani Ports, many group shares had declined between 19% and 36% from their respective calendar-year 2026 highs, creating a backdrop for renewed buying interest following the earnings announcements.

Adani Ports Rallies as Profit Rises 17% in Q2FY27

Adani Ports emerged as one of the strongest performers in the group after reporting healthy growth in profitability and revenue for the September quarter.

The company's consolidated profit after tax (PAT) increased 17% year-on-year to ₹3,682 crore in Q2FY27. Consolidated revenue rose 24% to ₹11,340 crore, supported by strong performances in its international ports and marine businesses.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 23% year-on-year to ₹6,807 crore. However, the consolidated EBITDA margin declined by 52 basis points to 60%, indicating that revenue growth was stronger than the improvement in operating profitability on a proportional basis.

The international ports business recorded particularly strong momentum, with revenue increasing 71% year-on-year, while the marine business grew 57%.

International ports EBITDA margin improved significantly to 47.7%, compared with 24.2% in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. This improvement points to stronger operating performance in the company's overseas port operations.

The stock moved closer to its previous all-time high of ₹1,891.80, recorded on July 3, 2026, reflecting renewed investor interest following the results.

APSEZ Raises FY27 Revenue and EBITDA Guidance

Alongside its quarterly performance, Adani Ports raised its full-year financial guidance, citing strong performance during the first half of FY27.

The company increased its FY27 revenue guidance by ₹1,000 crore to a range of ₹44,000 crore to ₹46,000 crore. Its EBITDA guidance was also raised by ₹1,000 crore to ₹26,000 crore–₹27,000 crore.

The revised outlook suggests that management expects business momentum to remain supportive during the second half of the financial year.

Capacity additions, international expansion and the development of logistics and marine services remain important growth drivers. These businesses can help the company expand beyond traditional port operations and increase the range of services offered to customers.

Analysts at Motilal Oswal Financial Services believe APSEZ is positioned to outpace broader industry growth, supported by capacity expansion and increasing contributions from value-added logistics activities.

The brokerage expects cargo volumes to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14% between FY26 and FY28. It projects revenue, EBITDA and PAT CAGRs of 17%, 18% and 21%, respectively, over the same period.

Motilal Oswal retained its 'Buy' rating on the stock with a target price of ₹2,130, based on 17 times its estimated FY28 enterprise value to EBITDA. The target price represents the brokerage's assessment at the time of its report and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed future market price.

Adani Enterprises Gains After Strong Revenue and EBITDA Growth

Adani Enterprises, the group's flagship company, also attracted buying interest after delivering strong year-on-year growth in its September-quarter financial performance.

Consolidated revenue rose 74% to ₹38,023 crore, while EBITDA increased 62% to ₹6,316 crore. The shares gained around 5% to ₹2,612 during intraday trading.

The company reported strong performance across businesses including airports and copper, while its newer businesses continued to expand. The results highlighted the contribution of its diversified portfolio of infrastructure and industrial operations.

Adani Enterprises had reached a 52-week high of ₹3,245 on July 6, 2026. Despite Thursday's rally, the share price remained below that peak, leaving the stock's subsequent performance dependent on earnings delivery and market expectations.

Airports and Copper Support Quarterly Performance

The airports business was among the key contributors to Adani Enterprises' strong quarterly performance.

Airport EBITDA increased 55% year-on-year despite a reported 6% decline in passenger traffic. Strong execution in non-aeronautical activities helped support profitability.

Non-aeronautical revenue generally includes income from activities such as retail concessions, food and beverage outlets, advertising, parking and other commercial services within airport facilities. Growth in these activities can help airport operators diversify their revenue streams beyond passenger-linked services.

The copper business also benefited from higher capacity utilisation and by-product pricing. Improved utilisation can support operating leverage by spreading fixed costs across higher production volumes, although margins remain sensitive to commodity prices and input costs.

The company's data-centre business continued to develop, with tied-up capacity exceeding 1.2 gigawatts, while operational capacity stood at 95 megawatts, according to the reported figures.

The distinction between tied-up and operational capacity is important. Contracted capacity represents future business commitments, whereas operational capacity reflects infrastructure already running. The pace at which contracted capacity becomes operational will influence revenue generation and the returns on capital invested.

Jefferies Maintains Buy View on Adani Enterprises

Brokerage firm Jefferies identified airports, copper and other businesses as important contributors to Adani Enterprises' quarterly performance.

Following the results, Jefferies raised its FY27 EBITDA estimate by 4%, citing strength in the new-age copper business, while making smaller adjustments to its FY28 and FY29 projections.

The brokerage maintained its 'Buy' rating on Adani Enterprises with a target price of ₹3,830 per share.

Jefferies also highlighted the potential of the company's newer businesses, including green hydrogen, airports, data centres, roads, copper and PVC, to develop into significant contributors to future earnings.

The airports business could benefit from the long-term expansion of India's aviation market, while data centres may gain from rising demand for digital infrastructure. Copper and other industrial businesses could also benefit from infrastructure development and domestic manufacturing requirements.

However, these opportunities will require sustained investment, effective execution and the ability to generate adequate returns on capital. The contribution of emerging businesses will depend on their commercial ramp-up, operating efficiency and demand conditions.

Adani Power, Green Energy and Other Group Stocks Also Advance

Buying interest extended beyond the two companies that reported strong results.

Adani Power, Adani Green Energy, Adani Energy Solutions and Adani Total Gas rose between 3% and 5% during Thursday's session.

The broad-based movement suggests that investors were reassessing sentiment towards the group following the earnings announcements from its flagship businesses.

Nevertheless, the performance of individual companies may differ significantly because their revenue models, debt profiles, capital expenditure requirements and earnings drivers are not identical.

Adani Power's prospects depend on electricity demand, generation costs and power tariffs. Adani Green Energy's performance is linked to renewable capacity additions, project execution and financing costs. Adani Energy Solutions operates in electricity transmission and distribution-related businesses, while Adani Total Gas is exposed to demand for city gas distribution and changes in gas procurement economics.

A rally across the group does not necessarily indicate that all its companies have experienced an equivalent improvement in underlying fundamentals.

Why the Q2 Results Matter for Investors

The latest earnings announcements have renewed attention on three factors that could influence the group's market performance.

First, operating performance is improving in key businesses. Adani Ports reported strong growth in revenue, EBITDA and profit, while Adani Enterprises delivered substantial increases in revenue and operating earnings.

Second, higher guidance strengthens earnings visibility. APSEZ's revised FY27 projections indicate greater confidence in its near-term business outlook, although actual results will depend on operating conditions during the remainder of the year.

Third, diversified infrastructure businesses offer multiple growth opportunities. Ports, airports, renewable energy, transmission, copper and data centres provide exposure to several areas of India's infrastructure and industrial development.

However, revenue and EBITDA growth alone are insufficient to determine whether a stock is attractively valued. Investors also need to assess net profit, cash flow generation, debt levels, interest costs, capital expenditure, return on capital and the price being paid for future earnings.

Key Risks Investors Should Monitor

Despite the positive quarterly performance, several factors could influence the sustainability of the rally.

Valuation risk: Strong earnings growth may already be reflected in share prices. Investors should compare current valuations with expected earnings and cash flow rather than relying exclusively on the latest price movement.

Debt and financing costs: Infrastructure businesses require substantial capital. Changes in borrowing costs, refinancing conditions and debt repayment obligations can affect profitability and financial flexibility.

Execution risk: Airports, data centres, copper facilities and renewable energy projects require significant investment and timely execution. Delays or cost overruns could affect projected returns.

Commodity and operating risks: Changes in commodity prices, energy costs, demand and operating margins may influence performance across the group's industrial and infrastructure businesses.

Market volatility: Broad market movements, investor sentiment and changes in institutional positioning can affect share prices even when companies report strong results.

Investors should also remember that historical price corrections do not, by themselves, establish that a stock is undervalued. A meaningful assessment requires examining the company's financial position, business outlook and valuation.

Market Outlook

The latest quarterly results have provided a positive near-term trigger for Adani Group stocks, with Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports leading the rally on strong revenue growth, higher operating earnings and improved business guidance.

Adani Ports' revised FY27 outlook and the contribution of international ports and marine operations could support investor confidence if the company continues to deliver on its growth targets. For Adani Enterprises, the performance of airports, copper and emerging businesses will remain important in determining whether quarterly momentum translates into sustained earnings growth.

The immediate direction of the stocks will depend on follow-through buying, broader market sentiment, valuation levels and the next set of operating updates. Investors should monitor the conversion of growth opportunities into cash flows, the pace of capacity expansion and the financial requirements of new projects.

While the earnings announcements have improved sentiment, further gains are not assured. Investors should evaluate each company separately, consider downside risks and avoid making decisions solely on the basis of a sharp single-day rally.
