CP Plus maker draws strong buying interest as ₹3,648.43 QIP floor price comes into focus; funds to support debt repayment, capex and potential acquisitions
Shares of Aditya Infotech, the company behind the CP Plus surveillance and security-products brand, hit the 5 per cent upper circuit in Wednesday’s trading session after the company opened a qualified institutional placement (QIP) to raise capital.
The stock climbed to an intraday high of ₹3,831.90 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), compared with its previous close of ₹3,649.50. The sharp move came amid active trading, with nearly one lakh shares changing hands across the BSE and NSE during the early part of the session.
The latest rally adds to a substantial run in the counter. According to the data cited in the report, Aditya Infotech shares have gained around 151.77 per cent on a year-to-date basis and approximately 175 per cent over the past year.
QIP opens with floor price at ₹3,648.43
The company's board authorised the launch of the QIP on September 22, with the floor price fixed at ₹3,648.43 per share.
The floor price represented only a small discount of around 0.21 per cent to the reference price cited by the company. Aditya Infotech has also indicated that it may, at its discretion, offer a discount of up to 5 per cent on the applicable floor price, subject to the terms of the issue and regulatory requirements.
The QIP is primarily aimed at raising institutional capital and strengthening the company's financial position as it pursues its expansion plans.
Where will the QIP proceeds be used?
According to the company, the funds raised through the QIP are expected to be used across several areas.
A portion of the proceeds will be directed towards repayment of certain outstanding borrowings of the company and its material subsidiary, AIL Dixon.
Debt reduction could help strengthen the company's balance sheet and potentially reduce financing costs, depending on the amount ultimately raised and the debt repaid.
The company also plans to deploy capital towards capital expenditure requirements. Additional funds have been earmarked for inorganic growth, including potential acquisitions that have not yet been identified, as well as general corporate purposes.
This gives Aditya Infotech flexibility to deploy the capital across both internal expansion and strategic opportunities.
Stock has delivered multibagger returns
Aditya Infotech has emerged as a strong performer since its stock-market listing in August 2025.
The shares have risen sharply from their 52-week low of ₹1,227 to a 52-week high of ₹4,094.50, highlighting the significant volatility as well as the strong appreciation seen over the period.
The stock's year-to-date gain of more than 150 per cent means the latest QIP announcement comes after a substantial re-rating in the market.
The strong price performance also raises the importance of monitoring whether future earnings growth and business expansion can support the company's elevated market valuation.
Technical picture enters focus
The sharp rise on Wednesday comes after a period of consolidation in the stock.
Hitesh Rathi, technical analyst at Angel One, said Aditya Infotech had undergone a time correction for more than three months following its strong move over the previous year.
According to the technical view cited in the report, a sustained move above the ₹3,950 level could indicate renewed upward momentum, while ₹3,200 has been identified as an important support level.
These levels represent an analyst's technical framework and are not a guarantee of future price performance. Investors may also need to consider the company's fundamentals, valuation and the potential impact of the QIP alongside price charts.
India's surveillance market offers a large opportunity
Aditya Infotech's core business is closely linked to India's expanding electronic surveillance market.
The company operates the CP Plus brand, which has a presence across security cameras, surveillance equipment and related solutions.
According to Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOFSL), India's video surveillance market was valued at around ₹10,600 crore in FY25 and could reach approximately ₹22,700 crore by FY30.
The brokerage expects structural demand drivers to include increasing security requirements across public infrastructure, businesses, commercial establishments and residential locations.
India's relatively low penetration of CCTV and advanced surveillance systems also provides a potential runway for market expansion.
Higher-value products could support growth
The surveillance industry is gradually moving beyond basic camera installations towards more sophisticated products and solutions.
Higher-resolution cameras, artificial intelligence-enabled monitoring, analytics, network video recorders, access-control systems and integrated security solutions are becoming increasingly important in both institutional and commercial applications.
A shift towards higher-value products can potentially improve realisations and product mix for established players.
MOFSL has cited robust volumes, expected price increases and a shift towards higher-value products among the factors that could support Aditya Infotech's earnings growth.
MOFSL sees strong earnings growth potential
Motilal Oswal Financial Services initiated coverage on Aditya Infotech with a 'Buy' rating, according to the report.
The brokerage estimated that the company could deliver revenue, EBITDA and profit-after-tax growth of approximately 44 per cent, 58 per cent and 64 per cent, respectively, over FY26-FY28.
These are brokerage estimates rather than reported company results and remain subject to execution, market demand, pricing, margins and competitive conditions.
The expected growth outlook reflects the brokerage's assessment of India's expanding surveillance market and Aditya Infotech's positioning within the industry.
QIP could strengthen expansion capacity
The proposed fundraising comes at a time when the company is seeking to balance growth investments with financial strengthening.
Using part of the QIP proceeds to reduce borrowings could provide greater balance-sheet flexibility, while capital expenditure could support capacity and operational expansion.
The potential for acquisitions also gives the company another route to expand its product portfolio, technology capabilities or market presence.
However, the eventual impact will depend on the size of the issue, pricing, dilution and the manner in which the proceeds are deployed.
Institutional participation will be closely watched
As a QIP is primarily aimed at qualified institutional buyers, investor participation in the issue could provide an indication of institutional appetite for the company's growth story.
The eventual issue price and amount raised will be important parameters for assessing the impact on the company's capital structure.
Existing shareholders may also focus on potential equity dilution and whether the capital raised generates sufficient incremental growth and returns over the longer term.
Competitive and execution risks remain
Despite the favourable industry outlook, Aditya Infotech operates in a competitive market.
Competition among surveillance-equipment manufacturers, changing technology, pricing pressure, dependence on component availability and the pace of adoption of newer products can influence margins and growth.
The company will also need to execute effectively if it deploys QIP proceeds towards acquisitions. Unidentified acquisitions carry execution and integration considerations until the targets, valuations and strategic rationale become clearer.
Rapid stock-price appreciation also means market expectations can become increasingly sensitive to quarterly earnings and forward guidance.
What investors will watch next
The key near-term factors include the final outcome of the QIP, the amount of capital raised, the issue price and the eventual deployment of proceeds.
Investors will also monitor debt reduction, capital expenditure, acquisition announcements, revenue growth, operating margins and demand trends in the surveillance market.
The company's ability to translate India's expanding security and surveillance requirements into sustained revenue and profit growth will remain central to the longer-term investment narrative.
Market Outlook
Aditya Infotech's latest 5 per cent upper-circuit move reflects strong market interest following the launch of its QIP. The proposed fundraising could strengthen the company's balance sheet, support capital expenditure and provide resources for potential inorganic expansion.
At the same time, the stock has already delivered substantial gains, with the reported year-to-date appreciation exceeding 150 per cent. This makes future earnings execution, valuation, QIP dilution and capital allocation particularly important factors to track.
The structural expansion of India's video-surveillance market provides a potential growth opportunity for CP Plus, but investors will ultimately be watching whether market expansion translates into sustainable revenue growth, margin improvement and effective utilisation of the newly raised capital.
